Iyengar Yoga Workshop
For the fifth year in a row, Svetlana Lundqvist is holding an Iyengar Yoga Workshop at Idöborg. There will be plenty of time to enjoy walks on your own as well as the wood-fired sauna. Vegetarian food prepared with locally produced organic ingredients will be served throughout the weekend.

Svetlana started with Iyengar Yoga in Moscow in 2003. In 2012 and 2013, she trained as a teacher for Monica Haar. Since 2013, Svetlana is certified at Introductory Level II and in the autumn of 2017, she passed the next level in Iyengar Yoga, Junior I. Svetlana runs the studio Yogena in Täby and holds classes at Iyengar Yoga Studio on Södermalm. She has had her own classes at other schools and has run a yoga studio on Koh Lanta in Thailand.
Iyengar Yoga is a physical , powerful form of yoga with exercises and yoga postures (asanas) that are performed very carefully. The focus in Iyengar Yoga is to perform the postures correctly based on the body's anatomy and physical conditions. As a Iyengar Yoga teacher, I have gone through a solid education. I have learned to give instructions that suit the student's needs and how to observe the practice of the yoga postures and correct, when needed.
In Iyengar Yoga there is no competition , no competition elements and no prestige. It is up to you to decide how much your body can handle, and what you can do. Anyone can perform Iyengar Yoga, regardless of age, yoga skills and physical condition.
During a lesson, I work based on the individual's own conditions. Anatomical alignment and, above all, posture are important. Each position is reviewed carefully and implemented relatively slowly. You stay in the position and some movements repeat for best effect. I use simple aids such as blocks, belts and blankets to be able to perform the positions as correctly as possible. That is, stretch fully to get as much space inside the body as possible with maximum regard to the body's anatomy. Through a refined system of hundreds of positions, you achieve great awareness of the body's posture and straight lines. You train strength, endurance, agility and balance, as well as concentration and meditation.
Ayurvedic massage, diagnostics, lectures on health food and other goodies will also be offered.
